Transplant Games of America 2022 Wrap Up

Wow! What an event. The Transplant Games of America 2022 have come and gone, and we are all still recovering from the excitement. There were so many amazing displays of what is possible after transplant that took place over the course of the week that it’s hard to know where to start. But I guess the best place is with the athletes themselves. Each and every one of them pushed themselves to their limits and achieved some truly incredible things.

1. Highlights from the week-long event - Follow Transplant for Life Foundation to see highlights on their Facebook page. Watch the entire parade on YouTube.

2. The athletes who stole the show - Above, we have featured the entire Northwest Kidney Kids camp; Julianna, who brought home gold for Team Texas; and Dylan, who brought home gold and silver for Arizona. Amazing job to all our kids and young adults who competed. We are truly in awe. If you want to share your transplant athlete to give a home to those at home, write us at contact@transplantfamilies.org, or contact us on our Facebook page via messenger at https://www.facebook.com/transplantfamilies and share. The first submission gets the "Howl at the Transplant Games" book.

3. We have pins for kid athletes who couldn't be with us. This is your last chance to claim them before they are all gone. See just a few pins donated by their perspective teams above. Thank you to all the teams for your generosity.

4. What's next for the Transplant Games of America - Keep an eye on their website to see when the next date and location will be announced Transplantlifefoundation.org | Transplant Life Foundation.

This week-long event is one that celebrates athletes who have received life-saving transplants and honors their donor families. It was an emotional week full of competition, camaraderie, and compassion. While we can’t list every winner here, we want to give special mention to the athletes who stole the show. From swimming to track and field to basketball, these men and women put on an impressive display of athleticism and sportsmanship. If you missed any of the action or just want to relive it all again, be sure to check out Transplant Games of America's Facebook, where they’ve been sharing photos and videos from the games all week long. Now that the Transplant Games of America are over for 2022, it’s time to start thinking about what’s in store for next time. Keep your eyes peeled for information on how you can get involved as a competitor, spectator, or volunteer! In the meantime, show us your transplant athletes and their medals by tagging us in your social media posts using #TransplantGamesofAmerica or #TGA2022. We can’t wait to see them all!
